University of Maryland, College Park Policy for Use of Campus Recreation Areas

A. UMCP Students

Full and part-time undergraduate and graduate students currently registered at UMCP are eligible to use Campus Recreation Services (CRS) facilities and participate in CRS programs. Group fitness and non-credit instructional programs are available for a fee, as are memberships for spouses and dependents of current students. For current fee information, consult the CRS website at http://www.crs.umd.edu or contact Member Services as 301.405.7529 (5-Play). Presentation of a valid student photo ID card is necessary when entering any CRS facility or participating in any CRS program.

B. UMCP Faculty and Staff Members

UMCP faculty and staff members are eligible to purchase memberships in order to use CRS facilities. Participation by faculty and staff in intramural events does not require a CRS membership. Memberships may also be purchased for spouses and dependents of faculty and staff. Payment is due at the time of purchase and may be made at the Campus Recreation Center Member Services window. Payroll deduction is another payment option. Faculty and staff may purchase a one-day membership. Contact Member Services at 301.405.7529 (5-PLAY) or consult the CRS website at http://www.crs.umd.edu for additional information. Use of the fitness center facilities in the Health and Human Performance (HHP) building (Rooms HHP 0101 and HHP 0103) is free to faculty/staff with presentation of Faculty/Staff photo ID. Hours for the HHP facilities vary; please consult Member Services for specific information.

C. Current Alumni Association Members

Current dues paying members of the University of Maryland, College Park Alumni Association may purchase a membership for themselves as well as for their spouses/dependents. A valid UMCP Alumni Association ID card and photo ID are necessary to purchase a CRS membership as a University of Maryland, College Park Alumni Association member. Members of the UMCP Alumni Association are not eligible to participate in intramural activities.

D. Emeriti/Retirees and Retired Volunteer Service Corps Members

Emeriti/Retirees and Retired Volunteer Service Corps members may purchase a membership at a reduced rate. To purchase a membership in this category, the appropriate membership card and photo ID must be presented at the Campus Recreation Center Member Services window at the time of purchase.

E. Guests

Any CRS member may purchase a Guest Pass to allow a guest to use campus recreation facilities. The member who purchases the Guest Pass must accompany guests during use. Guest Passes are available at the Campus Recreation Center Member Services window. Contact Member Services or consult the CRS website for current fees for Guest Passes.
